Description:
I graduated with B.A.Hons in Crafts (Combined Materials) from MMU, specialising in metal and textiles, followed by 19 years teaching Art & Design, Textiles, Graphics and CADCAM. I also simultaneously worked as an in-house Graphic Designer in the education sector. In 2016 I made the decision to leave teaching and to set up as a full time artist and designer-maker.
My work is a mixture of digital paintings and illustration as well as handmade items which are available through my etsy store.
There are different strands to my work, depending on my mood! These cover two main themes and stem from
my love of architecture, in particular churches, as well as textiles and animals, in particular cats. Though not overly devout, having been brought up catholic and then spending 19 years in a CofE school, the images, symbolism and iconography of faith are part of my visual language. I also illustrate cats, in many forms and media, including clay and needle felt, as well as the digital illustrations seen here.
